Who Am I?
My name is Nicholas Amzallag and I’ve always been an avid gamer from a very young age. Since being introduced to Zelda: Ocarina of Time back in 2000 by my brother, I was enamored by the creation of these artificial worlds. As time went on however, I came to love the Martial Arts and seeing them in video games was what truly hooked me.
Combat Design is my core passion in game development because the moment-to-moment action sequences are very personal to the player. They are the ones making the decisions, watching their opponents, reacting when necessary and in-turn, it becomes like a dance, moving to the rhythm of your enemy. I am very deep into this philosophy and love studying successful games that promote this kind of gameplay. It’s led me to work on my own combat projects so that I may better understand the nuances of what makes combat games click.
Now working in the industry since 2020, I continue to hone my skills by exploring other facets of Game Design.
